Juan Montoya's 1999 championship season was perhaps one of the greatest title fights ever in Cart. Alex Zanardi left for F1 and Montoya then an unknown dominated the season wining 7 races while Zanardi struggled. Montoya then went on to win the Indy 500 in his first attempt and raced in F1 and now Nascar.
