Davey Allison was perhaps the greatest second generation driver in Nascar, he won the last non restrictor plate race at Talledaga in 1987 and the following was runner up to his father Bobby Allison in the 1988 Daytona 500. At the start of the 1992 season, Allison was seen as a threat for the championship, he won the Daytona 500 and was leading the points for most of the 1992 season. Sure Allison lost his life in a helicopter crash in 1993 but he was a great driver meaning he will never be forgotten.
