AJ Foyt and Rick Mears could possibly be the great Indy car drivers of all time. Foyt was the first to win Indy four times and Rick Mears won Indy from the pole twice in 1988 and 1991. Foyt might be the first four time winner but Mears was clearly the best qualifier to win Indy.
