Jeff Gordon has won only one race in the last three seasons but he clearly won of Nascar's greatest. With his 84th win, he's now tied with Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip who were dominate in their 40s. Gordon might have started Nascar's youth movement in the mid 90s but he's clearly one of all time greatest considering that he all that has done mean he isn't even ready to consider retirement.
