Eddie Irvine could perhaps be Ferrari's greatest driver never to win the world championship, in 1999 he gave Ferrari their first constructors championships since 1983 and the following year, he was dropped for Brazilian Rubens Barrichello. Irvine nearly wining the world championship in 1999 did result in Michael Shumacher's dominance with Ferrari.
