If Alex Zanardi won back to back championships for Chip Ganassi, Juan Montoya brought that team to its height. In 1999 Zanardi went back to F1 and Montoya dominanted the season becoming the first rookie since Nigel Mansell to win a championship in his first attempt. Montoya also won the Indy 500 for Ganassi in his first attempt meaning Montoya was a better driver than Zanardi.
