Eddie Irvine might not have won the world championship in 1999 but he did start the path for Michael Shumacher and Ferrari's dominance of the 2000s. Irvine did win Ferrari first constructors championship in 16 years but Shumacher ended up giving Ferrari its first world championship in over 20 years. After being sidlined, Shumacher knew he was going to be number one at Ferrari and he was considering he won five championships for Ferrari.
